Therapist

My journey into therapy began with a deep curiosity about the ability of humans to survive some of the most difficult challenges of life. Through a combination of personal life experiences, education, and post-graduate training, I had the opportunity to work with survivors of trauma and witness firsthand the resilience people can find within themselves.

My formal education began at Auburn University, where I received my B.A. in Psychology. I then continued my studies, earning an M.S. in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mississippi College. These programs provided a solid foundation in both theory and practical skills.

During graduate school, I worked with families, couples, and individuals facing a variety of challenges such as trauma, addiction, grief, and relationship issues. This hands-on experience taught me how to tailor therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs and circumstances.

My post-graduate training further deepened my expertise, focusing specifically on trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges. I obtained certification in several evidence-based psychotherapies, which expanded my toolkit for helping clients navigate complex emotional and behavioral struggles.

These experiences revealed the powerful role therapy can play in resolving trauma and grief, and they renewed my commitment to supporting others through their healing journey. I believe that while trauma and grief may become part of one’s story, they don’t have to shape one’s future.

I’m continually driven by the conviction that learning new skills and resolving past wounds helps individuals preserve their future and the legacy passed on to coming generations. Seeing my clients feel empowered to face their trauma, pain, or grief—and to utilize healthy coping strategies—is what makes my work incredibly rewarding.
